The Value Estimating & Cost Engineering Lead plays a crucial and exciting role within the UK Sourcing team. This is a multi-facetted role providing value estimates for the purpose of sourcing compliance on non-competitive bids; as well as acting as a technical focal for our sourcing teams to aid with quick triage of engineering issues arising at suppliers. Utilising data from should costs and value estimates to help identify and drive cost out opportunities. Supporting in development of new competition, prioritising efforts, and providing project justification to gain business buy in.
Supports wider sourcing team with helping triage technical issues from suppliers, supporting the definition of the solution path.
Acting as a technical lead on US Government Cost And Price Analysis (CAPA) studies at suppliers as required.
Supporting and leading cost out initiatives with the broader sourcing and engineering teams.
May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Jobs at this level function with some autonomy but are subject to functional practices and precedents or are covered by well-defined policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college and/or relevant level of experience.
Established project management skills.
Experience in should costing software such as Apriori.
Experience in derivative analysis for cost estimation.
