Registered Care Manager

Location: Islington, London

Salary: £47,169 per annum

Job Type: 2 year secondment role

The care home supports 15 people who have a diagnosis of mental illness and who may be living with us as part of a block contract agreement with Islington.

The relationship with Islington is important and involves partnership working with them so an understanding of balancing this alongside any regulatory and employer requirements is necessary.

The Role

The main purpose of the role is to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of a trauma informed and recovery-based model within their specialist mental health accommodation. The post-holder provide leadership to frontline staff, and ensure a high-quality service is delivered on a 24-hour basis. This role will oversee the provision of high quality, safe and responsive services which is outcome focused and responds to the needs of residents. This role will include multi-site management at different locations. This post holder will hold the CQC registration for the service and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with CQC regulations.

Job Summary

The role will require expertise in mental health, and will work within the following areas:

* Providing leadership and operational management to Deputy Manager and frontline staff.

* Be confirmed as the registered Manager with CQC for the service and ensure that all CQC regulations are upheld.

* Providing clear direction to all staff linked to excellent standards of care and support.

* Manage team performance on shift, supervise staff, and demonstrate positive values.

* Provide a consistent approach to resident support, which is focused on trauma informed and recovery-based approach.

* Working in partnership with other agencies and the local communities.

* Ensure effective systems to promote both safety and security are deployed.

* Demonstrate a positive and objective attitude and behaviours in everyday practice.

* Participate in the manager's on-call system to provide the first point of contact for service staff, outside of normal working hours.

Skills and Experience

* Significant experience of working in a not-for-profit culture in a health/social care context.

* Solid experience of managing teams and residents with complex mental health needs.

* Understanding and experience of statutory regulation and legislation linked to mental health.

* Experience of budget management.

* First degree and/or diploma.

* Post graduate diploma or Masters level qualification.

* Good standard of IT knowledge, Word and PowerPoint, Excel

* An interest or experience in governance, safeguarding and evidence based practice.

* Confident at delivering messages in a professional presentation style and managing/leading teams.
