IMG Arena represents the betting data and streaming rights to a number of high profile properties including the UFC, Wimbledon tennis, US Open tennis, French Open tennis, PGA Tour and DP World Tour golf. IMG Arena supply betting data and streaming rights to over 100 online Betting Operators including Bet 365, Paddy Power/Betfair, Ladbrokes, William Hill, Draft Kings and Fan Duel.
The role will include supporting the commercial legal team with (i) the acquisition and sale of betting data and streaming rights for the IMG Arena business and (ii) the drafting and negotiation of services agreements for the various OpenBet technology and content products. The candidate will also be expected to provide ad hoc support to the compliance team as and when required.
Providing legal support for the (i) acquisition and sale of betting rights, (ii) OpenBet suite of products and services and (iii) other matters ancillary to the betting business;
Support compliance team with EMEA region regulatory investigations and filings;
Pro-actively working with the legal team (London and International colleagues) to ensure that best practice and knowledge is understood, shared and utilised amongst the team;
Liaise with the business so that commercial, pragmatic and salient advice and guidance on business opportunities can be followed at all times;
Advise on contractual terms that impact regulatory compliance;
Assisting with new projects as and when appropriate;
Work with compliance team to administer corporate compliance programs, including Code of Conduct, Gifts & Hospitality, Whistleblower, and other governing policies.
Qualified lawyer with 5-10 years PQE who has worked in a commercial environment
Experience of drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
In-house legal experience within a betting or media organization
Compliance experience
The ability to assimilate and understand salient points of commercial opportunities with both speed and accuracy
Excellent written and spoken English with a meticulous attention to and for detail
