United Kingdom Diageo España SA Full time

Diageo is the world’s leading premium drinks company with an outstanding collection of brands, such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Baileys, Captain Morgan, Tanqueray and Guinness. With over 200 brands in 180 countries and a global network of entrepreneurial individuals, our teams blend a diverse range of experience, knowledge and skills. We connect customers and consumers to our iconic products and create innovative experiences that bring people together to celebrate life.

Context

The Digital & Technology vision is to lead the way in the transformation of Diageo business capabilities, leveraging data & digital technology, to create a competitive edge in the marketplace.

Diageo has structured the D&T function along agile thinking to form several ‘Value Streams’. This role will work within the Supply Value Stream organization – whose aim is to continually deliver improved value to the Supply Chain area of Diageo’s operations.

Within the Supply Value Stream we have formed the “Technical, Strategy & AI team”, which covers 3 areas of responsibility:

1. Supporting the Technical function of Diageo – which comprises the Innovation & Brand Change (I&BC), Science & Technology and Governance aspects of Diageo’s supply chain. I&BC refers to product Innovation/Renovation cycles encompassing processes/application suites related to new product development (NPD), technical specifications management, product lifecycle management (PLM), lab solutions or LIMS, project management and artworks management. Governance refers to Environment, Health and Safety or EHS and product traceability.

2. We are responsible for overseeing the overall strategic plans of digital investment for the Supply Chain & Procurement value stream, operating mainly in the time horizons between 12 months to 5 years. This role is critical in ensuring that the SC&P Value Stream has the right medium to long term strategic plans in places that align to the strategic goals of the function.

3. Finally, we have specific responsibility for developing the plans on AI and advanced data science across the various sub-functions in the Value Stream. Delivery of the AI technology will require close collaboration across D&T.

The Analyst role will be a key member of this team. The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Technology, Strategy and AI with detailed work across the 3 responsibility areas, with a special focus on Technical and project delivery.

Diageo seeks an Analyst with a forward-thinking perspective and a well-informed point of view on the changing role of technology in supporting and enabling Supply Chain businesses. They will have a strong grasp of the business context and be able to create the bridge between business capabilities that Diageo has today and those required to deliver our business goals

tomorrow. The successful candidate will be particularly effective at understanding emerging technologies and how they could deliver value for Diageo.

Overview

The Analyst is here to ensure that D&T, in the Supply area:

Understands what is required to deliver Diageo’s strategic business objectives - we enable Diageo to grow.

Delivers optimised return on D&T investment – we spend our money in the best places and continually deliver value.

Act with purpose and agility to identify and exploit opportunities for D&T innovation, transforming Diageo’s ability to deliver great performance.

Maximise existing capabilities and identify opportunities to exploit incremental value within our existing technology suite.

This is a junior analyst role and would suit someone early in their career with Digital and Technology. Plenty of support, development and learning opportunity will be provided early in the role to allow the right candidate to build strong foundations in the following capabilities.

The Analyst will support the Head of Technical, Strategy & AI in creating the strategic D&T Plans and Roadmaps for digital investment across Supply. As concepts become opportunities the analyst will work on the detailed conception and implementation of projects to deliver value to Diageo, collaborating with the other sub-Value streams within Supply where required.

The Analyst will provide external perspectives and provocation to shape our approach, working closely with the business to thoroughly understand the requirements and how they can be delivered in line with our strategic vision. You will define the detailed what and why of our strategic plans to enable Enterprise Architecture to define the how.

Great relationships are at the heart of the Analyst role; you will engage with subject matter experts across the organization, inspire and collaborate with them to enable successful outcomes. You will have the patience and flexibility to collaborate and engage with customers and colleagues across levels and functions. You will work nimbly in a matrixed, global organization, operating independently while keeping others engaged and involving cross-functional colleagues as appropriate.
