About the Role
This role is suited to an individual driven by high standards, someone who has experience in managing data centres projects from Design to Delivery.Working for an Owner, Developer, Operator, manage and coordinating a Primary Contractors to the successful delivery of a Hyperscale Data Centre Campus.
As the Project Director, you should have experience of managing skilled multidisciplinary teams. This requires stakeholder and people management skills. Ability to understand the wider picture while devoting attention to detail. You should be proactive, diligent, able and willing to think ahead and be able to manage difficult situations.
Attitude is characterised by enthusiasm, customer first mentality and solutions driven. A collaborative manager able to foster trust-based partnerships. Quality focus and driven to drive project efficiency.
The role will require the PD to be comfortable working collaboratively in an integrated team. A fundamental of our execution strategy is that project controls are led by our controls subject matter experts to drive towards true “Single Source of Truth” project reporting. The candidate will need to support solid understanding of project controls, the data and how to best use it to drive intelligent and fact based decisions making.
Main Responsibilities
/ A member of Yondr Design and Construction, the role is a site based role reporting to the Senior Construction Director
/ The role will have accountability for construction project delivery from early pre construction through to handover to the Yondr internal customers Yondr Operations
/ The candidate should be able to work independently but with a clear understanding of internal reporting responsibilities and accountabilities, supported by the Campus Director
/ Support the design process through pre-construction and construction gateways through to handover and operations
/ Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with Yondr’s supply chain partners
/ Review relevant information and ensure compliance with the Employers Requirements & global standards
/ Work with the Partners to provide expert guidance and constructability advice to Yondr Design / Engineering
/ Review and monitor Off-Site Manufacturing activities
/ Manage the onboarding process of the General Contractor (GC) and partners and suppliers
/ Engage with the main contract design team to understand the basis of design development and any changes which are being proposed
/ Ensure information is compliant with the Planning / Permitting requirements for the scheme
/ Work effectively as part of the project management team and take a “whole company” perspective to managing day to day project activities
/ Administer agreements including the Main Contract Agreement
/ Provide regular reports to the stakeholders and Customer Solution team
/ Ensure all contractual obligations are discharged in full
/ Ensure all day-to-day meetings, decisions, changes and issues are documented
/ Ensure stakeholder following the project execution plan and their responsibilities
/ Established a track record of futuristic capabilities
/ Sets broad or complex /long term plans thinks through inter-dependencies and contingencies
Problem Solving and Decision Making
/ Think strategically. Goes beyond the obvious, gathers complex data, to get to the heart of business
/ Use fine judgement to make difficult decisions with limited data in tight time scales
/ Stretches the minds of others - captures minds to transform
Qualifications and experience
/ At least 10 years of relevant professional and project management experience, preferably 3-5 years within the data centres industry
/ Major project management experience in challenging environments – client side or Project Management Consultancy side
/ Management of multi-professional and multi-cultural teams and projects
/ Management and leadership of vendors inc. architects, engineers and contractors
/ Previous experience working in an Integrated Project Delivery team preferred
/ Experience in all forms of contract and administration
/ Experience working in multi-organizational teams
/ Understanding of the construction project lifecycle including the engineering disciplines
/ Experience in developing projects, and basic project management functions of document management
/ Excellent communication and collaboration skills
