Lincoln Lincolnshire, United Kingdom Legal for Lettings Full time

Are you looking for a rewarding career in law, with a fresh, innovative law firm determined to do things differently?
Do you want to work within one of Britains fastest growing companies?

Why work for us

We believe that dedicated and hard-working people should be paid fairly. We also know that whilst money is not everyones motivator, the remuneration package is still an important factor when choosing where you want to build your career. In addition to your basic package, you will receive:

  • Company sick pay
  • 26 days of holiday leave, plus bank holidays and the option to purchase additional holiday leave
  • Free access, for you and your immediate family to our Team members benefits which includes access to GPs, mental health practitioner, nutritionists, retail discounts, legal advice lines, and more.

We are looking for people who want a career and who aim to be the best in their field. That is why we support our team with their continued professional development whether that is through bespoke in-house training, through to sponsorship for externally recognised training and qualifications.

Not only is the package you receive important, so are the workplace facilities you will use daily. We have modern offices with an onsite subsidised bistro, a break room with pool and foosball tables along with a TV. We have free tea and coffee at the coffee bars around the office and bowls of fruit throughout. Free parking at the office is also available for all team members.

What you will be doing

As a Litigation Executive in our firm, you will benefit from a 3-month training program covering all the technical skills and knowledge you need. You will have dedicated training and support on our case management and telephony systems, along with in-depth training in Landlord & Tenant Law.

You will report to the supervising Solicitor of the firm, supporting the efficient oversight of the firms conduct of litigation. You will act as a point of referral for the wider litigation function, supporting a growing team of Paralegals with the day to day running of their files. You will be responsible for giving guidance and advice on the appropriate litigation strategy for cases, along with assisting Paralegals with drafting advice.

You will handle a small caseload of complex files including for high value clients. This will predominantly relate to housing disrepair claims and contentious possession proceedings.

You will play a pivotal role in the firm for the delivery of training to the team to build competence and to the wider Group, and its customer network.

In addition, during a typical day you will:

First Line of Defence (1LOD)
- You will support the supervising Solicitor with the oversight of the firms conduct of the reserved legal activities. This will include all Landlord & Tenant related matters from pre-legal through to enforcement.
- You will delivery training and seminars with an aspiration of building sufficient knowledge and competence within the firm to reduce the burden on the 1LOD activities.
Complex Litigation

- You may be required to handle a small case load of such matters from time to time.
Compliance
- Support the COLP and COFA with ensuring the firm is compliant with the SRAs and PI Insurers requirements;
- Monitor the standard of quality for litigation conducted within the firm and ensure that best practices are sharing with a continuous improvement mindset;
Training
- Support the firm in building competence through the delivery of training on all litigation related matters;
- Deliver webinars to the Groups customer base frequently to support customers with regulatory and legislative changes.
- Occasionally, you may be requested to attend principle clients offices to deliver legal seminars.

About you

Ultimately, we care much more about the person you are, how you think and how you approach things, than a list of qualifications on a CV. Even If you can't say Yes to all of the below, but are committed, self-motivated and passionate about customer service, then get in touch with us.
