Teacher of PE Wigan Secondary school September 2024 Prospero Teaching are working closely with a secondary school in Wigan who are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who is ambitious and has an excellent work ethic to join their team from September 2024. The school has a very positive outlook and a "can/do" approach amongst staff and students. A strong learning culture is evident because there is an acknowledgement that they are all learners, and they can all improve. Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Graduate status, with appropriate levels of attainment and qualifications in PE
  • Excellent subject knowledge
  • Have a secure knowledge and understanding of the PE curriculum and related pedagogy
  • Ability to teach PE to KS3 and KS4
  • Proven track record as a highly effective classroom teacher
  • Proven track record of high-quality outcomes at classroom and or faculty level
  • Leadership skills appropriate to the lead role in the delivery of PE
  • A passionate interest in all aspects of the subject
  • An interest in promoting the subject outside the classroom
  • Highly professional standards in the classroom and when working with colleagues
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS Location - Wigan Position - PE Teacher Type of work - Supply Teacher Start date - September 2024 Duration / Likely Duration - Long term, with the potential for extension depending on school End date (if applicable) - N/A Contract type - Temporary Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on schools needs Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £120 per day Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm (full day), half day (am or pm), individual lesson cover EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent Previous experience working in a UK school Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential) TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years OTHER If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up to date CV.
