The University Hospital of North Midlands, Mid Cheshire and East Cheshire NHS Trusts are working collaboratively to form a Pathology network in line with a NHSI directive.


We are seeking applications from enthusiastic, highly motivated and confident individuals to join our Phlebotomy team as Phlebotomy Manager. The successful applicant would be expected to support the Lead Biomedical Scientist in the delivery of the Phlebotomy service at the Royal Stoke and County Hospitals alongside the community clinics.


The collection of quality blood samples from patients is a vital stage in many medical investigations.


Based at Royal Stoke Hospital, the successful applicant will be expected to provide day to day management of the phlebotomy team.


The role will involve the day to day management of a team of phlebotomists to ensure standardized best practices are delivered at all locations. Experience in all phlebotomy techniques is essential along with managerial/supervisory experience.


Strong IT skills are essential, along with experience of data entry and use of Microsoft Office applications.


Applicants will be required to use their own vehicle to travel to the variouscommunity locations for which traveling expenses will be reimbursed.

Educated to degree level in a healthcare related subject or equivalent experience Recognised management qualification

NVQ level 3 or equivalent in: oPhlebotomy skills and techniques oEducation, training and assessment
NVQ level 2 or equivalent in: oCustomer care oUse of Microsoft Office

Demonstrate sound knowledge of the current theory and practice of phlebotomy techniques
Excellent IT skills/Use of Microsoft Office
Excellent customer care skills including professional telephone manner o
Personal qualities
Ability to adhere to policies and procedures
Flexible in approach to service needs
Must have suitable private transport, insured for class 1 business use, and be able to travel to community phlebotomy clinics and transport samples for analysis
