Job Description:
Our client is looking for an outstanding Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to join their business. This hands-on role will be supported by other EHS Managers within the UK. The successful candidate would be reporting into the Site Director on a daily basis. This is an onsite role.
Safety, Health and Environment Management:You will work closely with the EHS CoE to co-ordinate the deployment of our client's safety, health, and environmental strategy across the location with the aim of zero injuries or incidents. You will work closely with location management on Employee Training / Competence / Skills to identify needs and progress and develop individuals with a learning pathway across multi disciplines.
You will maintain, improve and deliver training programs for existing and new employees and also contractors, that increase their awareness and drive a behavioural based safety culture in order to support the strategy.
Compliance:You will work closely with all Departments, providing a hands-on approach to ensure programs are implemented, maintained, and reviewed to ensure compliance with regulatory and standards. You will ensure we are effectively managing risk with a particular focus on Total Process Safety.
You will assist Operations by coordinating the creation, review, and training of Risk Assessments and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and also Equipment Specific Lock Outs (ESLPs). You will provide assistance and guidance on the root cause investigation and reporting requirements of any injuries or EHS incidents, including ensuring any follow-up actions are implemented on time.
Communications:You will liaise closely with the UK Area H&S Manager and location management to ensure alignment with Corporate objectives and strategy and regulatory requirements. This includes attendance at certain meetings. You will provide safety, health & environmental advice to the location management and teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile:A recognised Health & Safety Qualification
Educated to degree level (Health and Safety, Engineering) or the proven ability to operate at that standard
5 + years’ experience in a similar role in a Production/Manufacturing Environment
Experience or an understanding of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering processes & procedures
Knowledge of combustible dust hazards and Hazard Area Classification
Experience with Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Permit to Work Systems
A recognised Environmental qualification is preferred
EHS Compliance and auditing experience
