Senior Mechanical Engineer
We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. As the UK’s largest concentration of specialist Underwater Weapons design and development engineers, they offer a unique infrastructure, with the expertise, tools, and facilities to design and develop Underwater Weapons in a safe and secure environment.
Responsible for designing and developing key Mechanical systems within the Underwater Weapons sector
# Providing technical engineering support and guidance to mechanical engineering design activities for new and legacy products
# Undertaking functional design and/or providing qualification and evidence for acceptance, fitness for purpose, regulatory & legislative requirements, and safety
# Assisting Engineering Governance and Requirements Capture activities
# Supporting the development of other early careers engineers within the discipline

Have a detailed understanding of the principles and approaches underpinning mechanical engineering design and development. Will have an understanding, knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering design and development of systems, sub-systems, assemblies and components. You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years.
