Mechanical Design Engineer

Perm, £35k to £40k pa DOE, 36hrs per week, Mon to Thurs

HALIFAX

Interaction Recruitment are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to work for one of their busy Manufacturing and Engineering clients, based in Halifax.

Your role will involve handling all of the company’s design and development of new and existing products as well as 3rd party Design and Build projects. Working closely with the existing design team to fully understand the customers’ needs and performance requirements.

-Design with cost in mind, using cost effective decisions.

-Evaluate design, concept, technical and project risks.

-Working on existing designs, overcoming mechanical problems, providing evidence, 3D models and fully detailed drawings and Vault.

-Working on new projects from concept to production, ensuring designs are robustly engineered.

-Taking designs and design ideas into production.

-Producing BOM configurations using Sage.

-Identifying ISO standards which have a direct impact on the design.

To be successful, you must be educated to Degree/HNC level in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years Design Engineering experience

-3 years 3D CAD experience using Solidworks

-AutoCAD experience/knowledge would be beneficial

-Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage several projects simultaneously

-Achieving the optimum overall cost within the budgetary constraints and project projections

-Knowledge of machining methods and sheet metal designs

-The Salary for the role is between £35k to £40k pa Depending on Experience and the role is advertised as Permanent.
