Quality Inspector Location: West Midlands Salary: £40,500 per annum Hours: 07:00-16:00 Monday to Thursday / 07:00-15:00 Friday Are you a Quality Inspector with hands-on experience in fastener or precision component manufacturing? Our client, a respected manufacturer within the fastener industry, is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team. This role plays a key part in maintaining standards across the production process, from goods-in to final release, ensuring all products meet both internal and customer quality expectations. Key Responsibilities Carry out inspections on incoming materials, components, and finished products in line with technical drawings and specifications. Complete all booking-in processes and maintain accurate inspection records. Identify, document, and manage any non-conforming materials or products. Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure ongoing compliance throughout manufacturing. Verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes using appropriate measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and thread gauges. Work closely with production teams to address quality issues and promote best practices. Raise and manage NCRs, liaising with suppliers and customers when required. Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with internal quality audits. Ensure full traceability and documentation control in line with ISO and customer standards. Requirements Proven experience as a Quality Inspector within a fastener manufacturing or precision engineering environment. Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand measurement tolerances. Skilled in the use of manual and digital measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges, etc.). Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems. Experience in raising and managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality management software.
