Quality Inspector Lincoln
Monday - Friday 8 hour days
Responsible for routine, daily inspection of products assembled at the Bogie Service Centre, ensuring compliance with product safety standards and best practice.
Responsible for supporting the shopfloor with defect identification, data capture, and reporting for resolution.
The role is also accountable for ensuring the quality of our end products, for right-first-time delivery, by providing effective end-of-line inspection.
Full Inspection of safety-critical materials and products to specification or other set criteria.
Decision making against specification to ensure no unsafe / non-compliant products are released from the facility.
Reporting of quality defects through the designated systems, ensuring they are sufficiently identified and recorded.
Perform quality investigations to identify point of cause of a defect, and reporting to Quality/Production to enable rework / containment.
Understand, implement and comply with the Siemens Rail Systems HSQE policies.
Support as required, support goods-in inspection and validation of new materials.
Actively encourage/support/participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement activities.
Support achievement of customer satisfaction with regards to additional inspection and documentation requirements.
Demonstrate commercial awareness when dealing with defective materials with regards to costs of non-conformance, including replenishment or rework, logistics, and inspection.
Engage and support all personnel as required to undertake duties effectively, building positive relationships with colleagues.
Suggest learning and development opportunities to develop talent and enhance capability in the team.
Previous experience in an inspection role.
Technical background in a mechanical / engineering environment.
Good knowledge of IT systems/software/Microsoft Office (ability to use digital reporting systems/interfaces).
Able to remain professional in challenging situations and put quality first in all scenarios.
Good organisation/planning skills, self-motivated.
PPE Will be provided when needed on site
