Our client is a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK, this is their biggest factory employing over 500 people. They are looking for a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer to work as part of their day shift team, focusing mainly on reliability engineering, projects & PPM's.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for carrying out mainly PPM's across the different plant shutdown days
- Working across manufacturing, production, site services, infrastructure and plant equipment
- Dealing with high-speed production & packaging machinery, automation, freezers, chillers, cooling tunnels, palletisers, conveyors, baggers, weighers, robotics
- Covering breakdown support to shift engineers when needed
- Continuous improvements, reliability engineering & projects
- Mechanical maintenance, fabrication, fitting, installations, welding, machining
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Must be a mechanically biased maintenance engineer
- Ideally have worked in food manufacturing or similar fast-paced FMCG environment
- Previously have worked on structured PPM's, CI, reliability engineering & project work
- Strong knowledge of asset care management, health & safety, process improvements
- NVQ Level 3 trained as minimum - mechanical engineering or maintenance
- Must have sold mechanical skills - fabrication, fitting, welding, machining, maintenance
- Any experience with robotics would be good
- Ideally worked with high-speed production & packaging machinery
- Willingness and attitude to assist in all areas when needed
- Able to come in with fresh and new ideas
- Beneficial to have completed a time-served-apprenticeship
