About Us:  We are based in Carmarthenshire, Wales but we have dogs in foster homes throughout the UK. We take in and rehome primarily ex-breeding dogs who are no longer required; We are a compassionate charity committed to the welfare and health of rescue animals. Our organization operates a bustling on-site surgery dedicated to providing essential veterinary care to our rescue dogs. We prioritize responsible pet ownership and strive to reduce the population of unwanted animals through spaying and neutering initiatives.
We are searching for a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian Surgeon to join our team on a full-time basis. As the primary veterinarian in our surgery, you will play a crucial role in providing surgical care to our rescue dogs. We welcome individuals who share our passion for animal welfare and are eager to make a positive impact.
Perform high volume spaying and neutering surgeries on rescue dogs, prioritizing the well-being and comfort of the animals.
Conduct a range of other surgical procedures as required, including but not limited to hernia repairs, entropion corrections, mammary lump removals, nasal wedge resections, etc.
Provide post-operative care and monitoring for all surgical patients, ensuring their recovery and comfort.
Mentor junior veterinary staff, particularly in the area of neutering procedures, fostering their growth and development.
Collaborate with other veterinary professionals and support staff to ensure the efficient operation of the surgery.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of all surgical procedures performed.
Adhere to strict protocols and standards of care to deliver high-quality veterinary services to our rescue dogs.
Degree in Veterinary Medicine and RCVS registered
Confident with ultrasound and microscopy.
Compassion and empathy for animals, with a commitment to their welfare and well-being.
Strong surgical skills and proficiency in surgical techniques.
Desire to mentor and support junior veterinary staff, particularly in surgical procedures.
Flexibility to work weekdays on a full-time basis, with no weekend duties.
Experience working with rescue animals or in a shelter environment (preferred but not essential).
Willingness to relocate, with temporary on-site accommodation available if needed.
