You will be required to lead strategic and operational initiatives for information and technology utilisation within the Academy.

Spearhead planning, organisation, and execution of all IT & AV functions.

Drive the effective delivery and ongoing enhancement of IT & AV services to users.

Main Duties:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement the Academy’s IT & AV Strategy.
  • Ensure robust systems and policies for data security and management.
  • Oversee the selection and implementation of business systems aligned with the IT Strategy.
  • Manage projects for system development, migration, and upgrades.
  • Establish governance and risk management processes for IT Services.

IT/AV Systems and Infrastructure:

  • Manage IT & AV operations and user support.
  • Maintain hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Setup and maintain IT & AV services and user access.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive the development and compliance of Office 365 and Azure.

Database Maintenance and Application Development:

  • Supervise database maintenance and integration.
  • Support CRM connectivity and adoption of new applications.
  • Facilitate third-party connectivity and ensure data integrity.
  • Stay updated on database technologies.

Staff, Stakeholder, and Resource Management:

  • Advocate for IT & AV initiatives across the Academy.
  • Lead and develop the IT & AV team.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Plan for future IT systems development and manage budgets.
  • Apply structured methodologies to projects and change management.
  • Procure and manage third-party IT & AV services.
  • Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans.

Information Security:

  • Develop and support the information security framework.
  • Provide expertise and resources for information security.
  • Investigate and resolve security incidents.

Other Duties:

  • Collaborate with other department heads for organisational development.
  • Fulfill any other duties necessary for smooth IT & AV operations.

Person Specification:

Candidates should demonstrate experience in:

  • Senior IT management.
  • Strategic leadership.
  • Cloud services.
  • Contract procurement and management.
  • Project management methodologies.
  • Agile methodologies.
  • Understanding of Higher Education.
  • Cyber-essentials certification.

Knowledge:
