Were looking for an exceptional Senior Health & Safety Business Partner / Construction Safety Business Partner to join the team supporting the safe development of the Cement Divisions Major Construction Project at Tilbury.
Youll report to the Director of Health, Safety & Performance, and play a pivotal role in the delivery of the companys Health and Safety agenda and implementation of the longer term strategy at this new and strategically significant site.
Youll be providing value adding Specialist Health and Safety support and guidance to the operational business whilst working in partnership with other functions as required.
You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills whilst supporting the coordination and implementation of the businesses Health and Safety strategies, youll be working collaboratively with the Functional Leadership Teams and Business Stakeholders.
Support the development of the overall strategy of continuous improvement for Health & Safety initiatives
? Enable the Health & Safety team to implement the various programmes necessary to meet the Health & Safety goals
? To act as a key member of the Health and Safety Team to provide technical expertise, strategic leadership, and support for various facilities, departments on regulatory compliance issues in Health and Safety.
? Understand the products and any/all potential health and safety hazards, present at all sites, and take steps to mitigate any potential health and safety hazards.
? Provision of Health and Safety advice to the business to ensure the successful implementation of current plans / roadmap and operation of the integrated management system.
? Ensure legal requirements are identified and understood at a local level.
? Provide support to operational units in order for them to robustly undertake external audits and other high profile site visits.
? Contribute to local review meetings, as and when necessary.
? Provide support for the evaluation of training needs, development and the delivery of training.
? Promote the use of the company Health and Safety Management system.
? Ensure the Company maintains an effective working relationship with enforcement agencies, the local community and other interested stakeholders, taking any opportunity to enhance these working relationships.
? Provide effective communication of issues and best practice to the Director of Health and Safety.
? Pursue Continual Professional Development in line with departmental performance objectives and act as a mentor for colleagues within the business.
We are looking for an individual with significant experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction or related industry and holds or is willing to work towards, a formal chartered status to the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and have a detailed knowledge of current health and safety legislation and its application in a construction materials/quarry/manufacturing environment.
With substantial experience of leadership within a Health and Safety function you possess proven success and effectiveness in providing leadership for Health and Safety initiatives.
Youll have excellent written and interpersonal skills and be able to influence and challenge constructively and the ability and appetite to work collaboratively across the H&S team and wider business to build effective working relations with others.
