This is an exciting opportunity for a Full time Substantive Consultant post based in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. You will be joining Colleagues in a well-established and innovative Directorate, with supportive colleagues and a culture where development and progression is embedded. The Postholder will be required to liaise with Clinicians and partner agencies including Paediatrics, Education and Children Services as and when necessary. English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply
Management of Merthyr patients in the Community as part of the Multidisciplinary Team and occasionally if admitted to the Paediatric Wards within the Directorate.
Implementation of the Mental Health Act and associated duties.
Liaison and collaboration with colleagues within the team, the Directorate and beyond - including other organisations, Local Authorities and the third sector.
Supervision of team members as appropriate, especially the Band 7 team lead and contributing to team meetings.
Taking leadership areas of development within the team and the service in coordination with senior professionals and locality managers.

On specialist register for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent relevant experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or eligible within 6 months of CCT-E
Clinical experience in Paediatric Liaison Psychiatry and Eating Disorders
Interest in clinical audit/research
Experience of teaching undergraduates/post graduates
Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance
