We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join the team in Newbury, England. As a Network Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the stability and integrity of internal voice, data, video, and wireless network services. You'll be the go-to expert for hands-on network support, ensuring that the systems run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to LANs, WANs, and WLANs.
  • Assist in network design and implementation.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users with varying levels of IT knowledge.
  • Monitor network performance and optimize it for future demands.
  • Conduct regular network maintenance tasks, including security updates and patches.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
  • Keep up-to-date with new networking and IT support methodologies.
  • Follow company procedures and ITIL best practices for Change, Incident, Capacity, and Problem management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience (Cisco LAN, WAN, Cisco & Meraki WLAN, and Palo Alto Firewalls).
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with common networking hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and network diagnostic tools.
  • Good understanding of computer network infrastructure.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCENT, CCNA, CCNP) are a plus.
