Based in Cheltenham, our client is looking to recruit for a Finance Manager who'll be reporting to the Director of Finance, This role drives the heart of the Finance Team to deliver excellent financial and budget management and reporting across the organisation.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for;
Collaborating with the Director of Finance to develop and deliver an annual finance work plan which aligns to reporting and business requirements.
Support the Director of Finance by developing relevant policies and procedures within the finance function and develop tools, guidance, and training for budget managers.
Working closely with the Director of Finance, identify and implement system and process improvements to ensure finance operations are efficient, resilient, and robust.
Lead the implementation of a month-end closedown timetable (to deadlines) within the finance team, including undertaking Balance Sheet and other reconciliations.
Identify weaknesses and improve controls within the finance team to maintain the accuracy of P&L and Balance Sheet.
Maintain the asset register for new assets, disposals, depreciation, impairments etc.
Work closely with the Director of Finance in the preparation of annual budget plans and future business planning, including liaison with budget holders and reviewing business analytics.
Work with the Director of Finance to develop a robust budget monitoring timetable and core processes, to ensure regular review of performance with budget holders.
Hold regular meetings with budget holders for larger or more complex departments acting as a business partner to support sound financial management practice.
Working with the Director of Finance to develop and deliver the annual year-end accounts closedown timetable.
Alongside the Director of Finance, prepare the annual statutory consolidated accounts and schedules
Lead the liaison with external auditors to ensure the year-end audit is delivered to deadlines, including resolving queries promptly, and co-ordinating the finance team to provide audit samples as per the agreed timeframes.
The successful candidate for the Finance Manager role will have a proven track record as either a Finance Manager or a Management Accountant and will be a qualified accountant.
