Watkin Jones, the UK's leading developer and manager of residential for rent are looking to appoint a Site Manager to manage the externals package at our 260 bed Purpose Built Student accommodation site in Bristol.

This will be a fixed term contract until July 2025.

Once complete the project will deliver 260 high-quality, purpose-built student beds, with ancillary spaces and 237 sqm of commercial space. This will be arranged within a single building, over 5 and 6 storeys, finished in brick and aluminium.

As the Externals Site Manager, you'll be managing processes to ensure the project is completed to the highest possible standard, on time, safely and profitably resulting in a satisfied client. This will include SFS, Windows, Curtain Walling, Brick/Stonework, Masonry Support Systems, Rainscreen Cladding, Scaffolding, and Roofing System. The right candidate must be able to manage subcontractors, including communicating clear decisive instructions and directions. You will also ensure the relevant standards of QA and H&S in relation to the external packages in order to meet the Construction Programme is also part of the role.

We’re looking for an individual who is educated to NVQ Level 3, ‘A’ Level or HNC standard in a relevant discipline or who has the equivalent experience. With good communication skills and a technical aptitude, you need to possess a SMSTS certificate, First Aid certificate and hold a valid CSCS card.

We’d like you to have experience of working with high rise buildings, student accommodation or BTR and you need to be capable working in an extremely fast paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel are a must, as are strong management and leadership capabilities.
