Industrial Automation

The UK technical centre based in Lichfield is at the forefront of delivering customer led innovation and solutions for our Industrial Automation Division in the EMEA region.
The primary objective for the role will be to design and develop new products for our industrial controls market, this is a key postion within IMI and the job holder will contribute significantly to the business growth via this workstream. Conceptual design and development of new products through the internal NPD business process
Design of industrial control components and assembliesGeneration of 3D cad models and 2D part/assembly drawings
Writing technical reports
Design calculations and application of advanced simulation techniques
Designing and managing Design Verification Plans
Participating in activities with cross disciplinary project teams within the region
Supporting project managers with reporting on project progress
Domestic and foreign travel may be required to support customer meetings and supplier visits

Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
~ Diploma in Computer Aided Design and some practical experience of CAE tools (such as FEA/CFD/Moldflow) would be advantageous
~3-5 years of component design experience with a good understanding of industrial control components or similar is required
