The role of Chief Pharmacy Technician is a key member of our Pharmacy leadership team responsible for the delivery of the Pharmacy operational service we provide to our Patients and staffs.

Our Pharmacy operational services comprise

  • 3 dispensaries (Inc. a home delivery service)
  • A centralised weekend dispensing service to 3 sites
  • An Aseptic dispensing unit
  • A Homecare service for over 4000 patients
  • A medicines procurement team overseeing a spend of 71M
  • A centralised stores and distribution service providing over 40,000 items a week across 5 sites
  • A great supporting administrative team
  • A supporting education training, learning a development team

Main duties of the job


  • The primary purpose of this role is to lead all operational aspects of the pharmacy service
  • The post holder will have specific responsibility for delivering the Operational Pharmacy services and by this supporting the Director of Pharmacy to ensure the relevant and current standards are met for the Pharmacy service provided to the Trust
  • To support the Director of Pharmacy in the strategic operational planning of the Pharmacy operational services in conjunction with the Trust's strategic imperatives

The post holder is a member of the Senior Leadership Team in pharmacy.
