An exciting opportunity for an experienced Possession Planner / Safe System of Work Planner to take responsibility for access planning and all associated documentation for a portfolio of infrastructure projects in our portfolio of Eastern region, civils. buildings and Access for All (AFA) projects, based out of our Barnsley Head Office
Business Unit
A busy and fast paced business unit involved in a range of civil engineering works associated with Network rail infrastructure such as various bridge refurbishment and renewals, embankments, stations etc. The business unit are involved in multi-disciplinary rail civils projects up and down the CP6 LNE route ranging in scale and value but often complex and technically challenging.
Existing contracts in the CP6 infrastructure projects framework/contract includes schemes such as bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms, access for all and footbridge installations), platform re-gauging / platform extensions etc.
As Possession Planner you will assist in the preparation & input of integrated access submissions to allow delivery of co-ordinated project programmes to ensure the successful delivery of project deliverables. To ensure agreements & publication of project access, electrification isolation, operational & engineering requirements via Network Rail planning systems. Liaise with the project management teams on all Access planning matters. Work closely with the Construction Management and Estimating team to identify all available possessions to optimise working and to maintain the project programme. Preparation of the Master / Contract / Managing possession schedule and supporting information. Ensure possession, isolation & protection requests are submitted in line with Network Rail planning timescales and relevant format. Planning of possession/protection arrangements. Monitor / record / highlight any possession planning changes. Identify project risks / opportunities and participate in the management process. Ensure that all aspects of safety are taken into consideration when planning a project. Maintain close relationships and Liaise with other members of the planning job family, contribute to the transfer of best practice. To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Possession Planner OR Access Planner in a rail minor works environment.
PPS planning access experience SSOW planning qualification Core Level 2 PTS Trained and certificated as competent as Controller of Site Safety [COSS] Must have a good understanding of the Network Rail Rule Book and be able to interpret Sectional Appendices, Hazard Directory, and Environmental Assessments etc. Holder of a full British Driving License.
