We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team based either in Farnborough or Bournemouth.

This role involves overseeing the Health and Safety components of the Management System across our UK sites and unique contract operations like Engineering Hubs, Air Ambulance, and Rotary Operations, among others. Reporting to the Head of Safety, we are looking for a Level 6 health and safety practitioner with experience in aviation and/or aircraft engineering.

The Health and Safety Manager will lead a team and collaborate with the Safety Manager for aviation safety to ensure an effective Safety Management System (SMS).

The main objectives of this role are to ensure health and safety standards are met across our UK sites, maintain ISO 45001 accreditation, and enhance health and safety policies, risk assessments, and training to benefit all workers.

Responsibilities:

  • Line management of the HSE staff and guidance to the HSE Representatives
  • Provision of HSE resources, products, and services across the company
  • Oversight and continuous improvement of HSE
  • Management and monitoring of the HSE budget and spend
  • Maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 approvals
  • Review and update of HSE policies and procedures
  • Oversight of incident/accident/hazard reports
  • Provision of HSE data/reports to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Delivery against HSE strategic objectives
  • Promotion and communication of HSE
  • Provision of HSE training
  • Support to bids and projects

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience required:

  • Essential
  • Level 6 (Diploma)/Degree in Health and Safety
  • Experience in Health and Safety within Engineering
  • Knowledge of H&S regulations in Aviation
  • Proficiency in IT (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to travel
  • Advantageous
  • Chartered Member of IOSH
