The role
You will be responsible for providing a robust administration support function and delivering an exceptional customer service.
Key duties
- Daily input of sales orders and delivery notes on the in-house system
- Preparing orders and delivery dockets for the warehouse the pick and despatch
- Confidently answering the telephone and managing enquiries to develop relationships and maximise sales opportunities
- Monitoring emails and ensuring enquiries are responded to in a timely manner to maximise business opportunities.
- Booking parcels and pallets onto the transporters logistic system.
- Acknowledging customer orders, confirming their despatch and monitoring delivery
- Keeping customers updated on stock availability and maintaining system for back orders
- Liaising with pallet and parcel companies about delivery queries/problems
- Sending Proof of Delivery (PODs) when asked by customer
- Invoicing customers and checking paperwork.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Excellent administration and customer service skills
- Strong communication skills and confidence in talking over the phone
- The ability to use initiative and work effectively to deadlines
- Attention to detail and ability to follow processes
- Knowledge of construction and building products (desirable)
