Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled Backend Software Engineer with expertise in both Rust and Python. While Rust proficiency is essential, this role primarily emphasizes Python development, with Rust being integral to the High-Performance Computing (HPC) aspect of the position. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who values versatility and is eager to contribute to a diverse range of projects within a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain backend solutions using Python.
  • Utilise Rust for High-Performance Computing (HPC) tasks, integrating it seamlessly within Python-based systems.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in software engineering, particularly in Rust and Python development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Backend Software Engineer, with expertise in Python development. (5 + years)
  • Strong knowledge of Rust (2+ years)
  • Familiarity with software development best practice
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
