The role is within: CYPMH & CYPPS Lancaster and Morecambe

A Permanent vacancy for a CYWP to work within our 0 - 18 years CYPMH & CYPPS service. Fully qualified and fully accredited is essential for this post.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering, under supervision, high-quality, outcome-informed, focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing, mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.

The post is within a fully-integrated MDT of Specialist CYPMH Practitioners, DBT Therapist, Clinical Psychologists, and Psychiatry. The post-holder will join a number of CYWP's already working in the children and young people specialty across eight teams in South Cumbria and Lancashire. The post holder will receive on-going clinical supervision both as individual and in a skills group.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

  • Children and Young People's Wellbeing Practitioner (CYWP)
  • Postgraduate Certificate from an accredited training provider

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development and the role of the family in supporting children and young people's emotional well-being
  • Knowledge of systems and contexts in which children and young people are likely to live
  • Demonstrates an understanding of common mental health problems experienced by children and young people
  • Understands why it is essential to use evidence-based interventions when possible

  • Experience of working with children and/or young people and families
  • Experience in providing CYWP interventions utilising CBT principles for children and young people experiencing, mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties
