Working Arrangements: On site

We are requiring a Science Tutor to join us on an engagement basis to support with the delivery of Science sessions across the Academy.

This role will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of the Science provision within the Hybrid Training Model.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, facilitate and co-ordinate the delivery of Science for schoolboys on the Hybrid Training Model.
  • Ensure that tracking and assessment of schoolboys’ progress isup to date.
  • Contribute to the writing of schemes of learning for Science.
  • Contribute to the development of effective tracking systems tomonitor student progress.
  • Deal with any safeguarding issues that may arise by reportingthem to the Head of Education and Welfare.
  • Participate in any training courses for Academy staff and otherClub staff as and when required, e.g. FA Safeguarding workshopsand Equality seminars.
  • Be the key point of contact and liaise with partner schools ofschoolboys over any matters relating to the subject.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or QualifiedTeacher Status (QTS) essential
  • Degree level education or equivalent essential in the subjectarea
  • Safeguarding Children Tutor Training is desirable
  • Demonstrable experience of secondary education teaching
  • Experience of working in a sporting environment
  • Sound organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage ownworkload.
  • Excellent communication skills
