The successful candidate will be based in the Housing Management and Community Services Team and will lead on thedevelopment, implementation and revision of new and existing policies and procedures connected to communityservices. They will provide the vital link between the Housing and Community Services Team, external agencies,tenants and customers.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within housing management, community services or tenantparticipation. New Gorbals Housing Association is a dynamic community controlled organisation. As the Community Budgeting Officer at New Gorbals HA your role will involve leading on the further development ofcommunity/participatory budgeting across Gorbals. You will be responsible for continuing, growing andimplementing the Gorbals Ideas Fund programme and expanding community participation in the allocation offunding.
You will work closely with the local panel to build more links and partnerships between individuals and groups toidentify new grassroots projects and promote innovative approaches to community investment.
You will be expected to collaborate with colleagues, teams and external agencies to deliver positive outcomes for theGorbals community and along with the local Community Advocates deliver on the aims and objectives set out in theGorbals Ideas Fund Strategy.

Our Management Board would like to develop a digital heritage platform to host (What was there before the Tenements?)with the aim to explore Royston's history and heritage through archived photography and document collectionsavailable at local and national archives and how it relates to the local and national story of industry,transport, and housing.
Through community and partnership collaboration we aim to celebrate and share our history and culture in new andexciting ways. The heritage activities we have planned are incredibly valuable to our community and will helppeople have a greater sense of identity, place, and increased community spirit, pulling people together andencouraging learning.
A heritage engagement officer will be recruited whose role will be to coordinate and administrate the project whilstproviding additional support to learner /volunteers’ personal development. A community engagement/volunteeringmentoring programme will be established to recruit and build capacity through volunteers whose role will be toresearch, promote and share our heritage findings by increasing the use of digital technology, digitalparticipation whilst creating an online digital heritage platform.
We want to see the benefits of our past heritage delivered to people to feel a greater connection with their heritageand that of others by :
• Researching the archived Garngad/Royston collection held at the Mitchell Library including accessing the digitisedSpecial Collection of photographs and research documents providing alternative means of access via our onlinedigital platform. Participants and volunteers will have the opportunity to visit the Mitchell Library and browsethe collection in person whilst receiving onsite training increasing volunteer's skills.
• Our community reminiscence sessions guided by trained experts, will provide opportunities for gathering our richheritage sources and allow people to recall their experiences of living, working, and socialising in the localarea.
• Providing public access by creating a local and national online digital presence. sharing and celebrating our localhistory/heritage resources making them more available to visitors and increasing access to virtual visitors viaour online website.
• Volunteers will become familiar with the range of skills needed for the meaningful documentation of our heritageand cultural assets, and the ability to present them effectively for the use by varied user groups and audiencesengaged in areas such as cultural heritage tourism both locally and nationally
• People have shared stories that they felt would be lost due to an ageing community if not captured now, storiesregarding the regeneration and development of the area with regards to housing, industry, and socialrelationships.
You will facilitate project delivery and support the development of Community Engagement using Heritage as anengagement tool to increase participation in our new, What was there before the tenements? project.
You will liaise with organisations, community groups and individuals to create volunteering opportunities.
The Heritage Engagement Officer will recruit, engage volunteers in training programme and provide guidance andsupport to volunteers.

Leading the preparation of procurement business cases in compliance with procurement strategy and authoritylevels, ensuring timely preparation of work specifications and tenders / evaluations, to meet project planningand governance objectives.
Leading the appointment of relevant consultants, development of service agreements / contract, and performance.Effective management and support of Repairs Services team, including annual performance reviews, SMART Team Plans,regular Planning & Supervision Sessions.
Monitoring and reviewing contractors and contracts for compliance, probity, best value and service quality.
Developing and implementing effective repairs management strategies / initiatives / KPIs/ PIs/ policies /procedures, mitigating risk and demonstrating compliance with governance, legislative and regulatoryrequirements.
Leading risk assessment, performance and compliance reporting and preparation of MC/ governance reports.
