Senior NLP Data Scientist
Vacancy Name Senior NLP Data Scientist Vacancy No VN529 Location City London, Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, Letterkenny or Porto Overview of Role Following our inclusion in the ‘Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100’ and having finished the year being named ‘Company of the Year’ at the Belfast Business Eye Awards, FinTrU is looking for a Senior NLP Data Scientist to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior NLP Data Scientist to join the FinTrU Data Science team to work in partnership with Product Management and Engineering to support and deliver on our Product Strategy and Vision.
The role would be hybrid between home and office.
#Proven experience and understanding of NLP techniques to transform unstructured data such as texts/documents/email etc – technical skills encompassing some of the following:
Experience with LLM models and ML frameworks and libraries e.g. Experience with structured and unstructured / semi-structured data (e.g. raw text, json, xml)
Experience in Python programming, with exposure to C/C++ beneficial
Experience working with cloud computing and databases
Experience with machine learning methodology and best practices
Work in partnership with Product Management, DevOps and Engineering Leadership to support the delivery of the product vision and strategy, and associated Data Science Strategy
Unlock the value of data through development of NLP techniques, ML methodologies and compelling data visualizations
Research and analyze industry and technology trends to identify opportunities to enhance our product offerings and efficiency through adoption of new techniques, technologies, tooling, automation and best practices
Collaborate closely with data engineers and ML engineers to ensure development of robust and scalable solutions which just work
Support the head of Data Science in building a cross-disciplinary team to implement FinTrU's Data Science Strategy
Coach and mentor junior members of the team, demonstrating excellent technical expertise and leadership

Experience and great understanding of NLP and Computer Vision techniques
Hands-on experience with feature engineering, model training and model deployment
Experience and understanding of Financial Services as a domain, especially wealth management and investment banking
