The ONE Group work closely with a fabulous organisation in Cambridge. Pairing GaN with Si has made them the talk of the town (world) and they are rapidly leading the future of nextgen MicroLED technology.
Their next key hire is for an R&D Engineer who has a hands-on background in epitaxy, specifically with GaN-on-Si.
Their purpose-built offices and cleanroom facilities are only a year old so you will be joining a company with amazing facilities.
The main features of this role will involve:

The development of advanced MOVPE processes for GaN
Supporting R&D projects involving their new and evolving customer base
Interfacing with suppliers to ensure the delivery of custom epitaxial wafers
Ensuring all practices and policies are implemented and documented
Developing in-house characterisation
Dovetailing with the Production team to ensure the EPI process and device data are well connected, with yield & performance optimised
What will you need to bring to the table?

A Master's or PhD in a suitable relatable discipline
We can also consider equivalent experience along with sufficient background knowledge on GaN and LED devices
Ideally some relevant industrial experience
Hands on experience in GaN-on-Si epitaxy
Proven track record in MOCVD Process Development
Strong understanding of the importance of LED device performance in relation to epitaxy process and design
Good understanding of relevant characterisation techniques, such as XRD, PL, AFM, SEM, TEM, EL etc.
Modelling experience would be beneficial
Excellent fluency in English is required, but Chinese language skills would be a big plus
Right to work in the UK - we may be able to consider the transfer of a visa sponsorship if you are already within the UK.
