Sensory Smart Child Therapies is a multi-professional private paediatric therapy practice offering assessment and therapy services to children aged 0-18. Sensory Smart Child Therapies has contracts with individual families, schools, and Local Authorities to meet children's needs comprehensively.
*Role Description:*
This is a term time, on-site role for a paediatric occupational therapist at Hurst Lodge School in Yateley. The therapist will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing individualised treatment plans, and delivering therapy services to children aged 3 to 18 years. Children may present with a variety of diagnosis, including, Sensory Processing Disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Speech and Language delay/disorders.The therapist will work collaboratively with families, the school, and the on-site multi-disciplinary team consisting of other occupational therapists and speech & language therapists to ensure comprehensive care.
*Qualifications:*
* Recognised Diploma/Degree
* Registered with Health Care Professions Council – Licence to Practice
* Evidence of successful completion of a range of other short courses at post graduate level
* Evidence of attendance at other specialist course relevant to paediatrics
* Experience in working with children with various diagnoses, including, sensory integration challenges, autistic spectrum disorder, dyspraxia, dyslexia and developmental delay
* Ability to develop and implement individualised treatment plans
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals.
* Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written, of complex information to other professionals
* Flexible to meet the demands of the service
*Responsibilities:*
* To be responsible as an autonomous practitioner to undertake a clinical workload.
* To undertake assessments of children, using both standardised and non-standardised assessment tools.
* To demonstrate clinical reasoning and the ability to interpret assessment data and write clinical assessment reports.
* To devise child/family centred treatment plans through use of goal attainment scaling, considering a wide range of treatment techniques and grading activities to ensure that the individual’s full potential is developed or maintained.
* To conduct 1:1 and small group treatment sessions in school.
* To provide a high standard of clinical record keeping.
* To provide an effective high-quality service to all children and families.
* To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to promote the safety of children and the management of risk.
