Job Description

Job Title: Principal Geotechnician

Location: Southampton (onsite)

Salary: 75k

Job Description:

My client is a geoconsulting laboratory business supporting the offshore energy sector. They deploy smart data-analytics to interpret, integrate and analyse geo-data from the seabed and subseabed to realise opportunities for offshore energy assets.

They find innovative and reliable geosolutions for some of the worlds most complex offshore problems.

They require a Principal Geotechnician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be able to perform advanced geotechnical laboratory testing and will be responsible for providing high quality, high value data.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing and supervising advanced laboratory testing
  • Providing training for junior employees
  • Processing test data
  • Equipment calibration checks

Requirements:

  • Be highly capable in geotechnical laboratory testing across a range of soil types and test methods
  • Have an aptitude for mechanical testing
  • Have an understanding of the offshore energy sector
  • Have experience in executing and supervising laboratory equipment calibrations and checks
  • Interested in soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering
