Financial Controller

CMA Recruitment Group is currently working with an organisation based in Wimborne, Dorset, who are looking to hire a Financial Controller on a part time (3 days per week) 12-month interim basis. This is a No.1 role reporting directly to senior management, where the successful candidate will have significant autonomy day to day, whilst acting as the point of contact in finance for various stakeholders across the business. This position is expected to convert to permanent following the initial interim period, although responsibilities for the permanent role are yet to be defined. Please note, there is not expectation that candidates interviewing in the interim role will be interested in the permanent role.
What will the Financial Controller role involve?
- Attend senior leadership meetings and represent the finance function, providing financial insights and analysis;
- Completion of financial accounts, VAT returns and all other relevant statutory obligations;
- Management Accounts preparation, cash flow, budgeting & forecasting, including liaison with department heads to agree budgets;
- Daily upkeep of finance function processes including purchase order processing controls;
- Management of two transactional finance team members.
Suitable Candidate for the Financial Controller vacancy:
- The ideal candidate will be working towards or will have completed their ACCA / ACA or equivalent qualification;
- Previous experience working in a similar seniority role, ideally as No.1 is finance is essential;
- Experience with operational remits across the wider business is beneficial.
