We have 2 exciting posts: OTA (Generic) - support with delivery of treatment plans, life skill development (cooking, budgeting, hobbies), wide ranging activities including those within the community and on-site.

OTA (Allotment) - knowledge of gardening is desirable, including an ability to complete general gardening maintenance tasks. Any qualifications associated with this is desirable, however not essential.

Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you willsupport the service indelivering structured activities and assisting in the planning forindividual and group therapeutic interventions. You will build one-to-one rapports with service users to encourageparticipation in activities and empower recovery.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities in order to measure progression and ensure effectiveness.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant you will be:

  • To assist Occupational Therapists, Nurses and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans.
  • Support service users to achieve their goals and access appropriate services.
  • To maintain adequate records, entering details in the service user healthcare records.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
  • Experience in a similar environment & Mental Health
  • Verbal and written communication skills

Where you will be working:

Location: The Spinney,Everest Rd, Atherton, Manchester M46 9NT

The Spinney offers care and support for men aged 18 years and over with mental health problems. They are supported to gradually work along their care pathway and back to the community. The hospital is made up of medium and low secure services, a separate rehabilitation service and a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
