The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is a leading modern University and one of the UK’s largest with a student and staff community approaching 38,000.
UCLan is now seeking to make the crucial leadership appointment to the role of Head of Facilities Management. The postholder will support the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities and lead the University Facilities Management, and Campus External Appearance teams across the three primary campuses, to ensure that the estate is well-maintained, and our customers are supported to the high standards articulated within University strategies, policies, and procedures, in accordance with industry/sector best practice, and is fully compliant with statutory legislation.
The role will lead the development and implementation of a structured, 5-year Facilities Management Strategy, budget, and programme for reactive and planned facilities operations, and act as lead coordinator for the technical facilities management input to the design and specification of new and refurbished buildings and infrastructure.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of shaping, planning and delivering strategies that enhance an organisation's facilities management service with significant experience in a Head of Facilities Management role within a large campus-based organisation. You will have experience of managing multi-disciplinary FM teams across multiple geographically dispersed sites within the UK and developing individuals and teams beyond core FM services.
The role offers a fantastic leadership opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic individual to play a key part in the continuing and future success of the University and its wider role in the North-West region.
