The Role At Veeva Link, we're building the intelligence layer for Life Sciences, creating connected data applications that accelerate drug development and significantly improve patient outcomes. What You'll Do This is the foundational role for our new product, where you architect the platform and define the engineering culture from day one. You will directly determine team agility, product scalability, and the effective integration of AI to deliver core customer value You have a greenfield mandate to build a modern platform from scratch, granting full ownership over architecture and team composition. This high-visibility role involves multidisciplinary leadership that shapes product strategy through innovative AI integration You own the technical architecture and strategy, defining everything from APIs to cloud infrastructure and AI implementation. You will lead and mentor a cross-functional team, establishing the processes and quality standards needed to deliver high-impact, reliable features Define Architectural Strategy: Use strong system and API design skills to make decisive architectural choices, ensuring our solutions are robust, scalable, and efficient Guide and Deliver: Lead cross-functional engineering teams to deliver complex, data-intensive, or AI-enabled products, ensuring project momentum and high-quality outcomes even as requirements evolve Cultivate a High-Trust Environment: Champion a people-first, low-ego, and highly collaborative culture, acting with high integrity and guiding the team toward pragmatic, high-value solutions Drive Technical Excellence: Apply expertise across the stack, from modern Python backends and React/frontend architecture to leveraging ML/AI workflows and data pipelines for production Operationalize Stability: Ensure operational readiness through familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP), CI/CD practices, instrumentation, and monitoring Requirements 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a dedicated team lead role Strong demonstrated expertise with modern Python backend frameworks Solid understanding of React and contemporary frontend architecture Proven experience delivering data-intensive or AI-enabled products Leadership Style: Collaborative, humble, and possessing the ability to create clarity among ambiguity Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are essential for both technical documentation and team alignment Nice to Have Experience working in early-stage or greenfield product environments Hands-on experience with MLOps tools Exposure to TypeScript or GraphQL University degree related to Computer Science #RemoteUK Veeva's headquarters is located in the San Francisco Bay Area with offices in more than 15 countries around the world.
