We have an established ecosystem of internationally recognised organisations including the Institute of Export & International Trade and the IOTA Foundation who are collaborating on this programme.
TLIP is architected on IOTA’s decentralized infrastructure technology enabling governments and businesses to exchange trade data in a secure and trusted manner. Already live in Kenya where the TLIP platform is integrated into the Kenyan Single Trade Window it is used by large and small organisations to streamline their international trader administration and processes. Developing economies and small trader communities stand to benefit significantly with increased access to new markets which stimulate local growth and job creation. The increasing focus on management of the environmental impact of international trade can also be more effectively monitored and regulated through a digital trade capability. The core principles of TLIP incorporate a focus on supporting emerging economies using a not-for-profit governing foundation and access to code via Open Source principles. We have recently signed a collaboration agreement with 5 international organisations to form the board of the TLIP foundation; Large companies and governments engage with TLIP through open APIs, but supply chains are characterized by a large number of small and middle sized companies - both in the Northern and Southern hemispheres - that will work through web-based and mobile applications.
Our ideal candidate will have experience from similar work, integration of IT systems, and knowledge of international trade and supply chain management.
The TLIP technical team consists of 11 people in Kenya, 5 people in Europe, collaboration support from IOTA Foundation’s 120+ employees and the Institute of Export & International Trade’s 200 employees, and the team is growing.
The candidate will be expected to work remotely and must be open to travel for meetings and workshops. Collaborating closely with the design team and the target client base they continually develop the product roadmap, recommending and designing new features and functionality to maximize the benefits of TLIP and ensure its long term viability in the market.
Providing quality assurance of new features developed by the technical team before release to the market
.Strong technical skills, preferably within a W3 / distributed ledger domain plus understanding of the following:
TypeScript: Proficiency in TypeScript is essential. This includes understanding types, interfaces, classes, and generics, as well as TypeScript-specific patterns and best practices.
React: Experience with React.js and its ecosystem is crucial. Familiarity with related libraries and tools such as Redux for state management and React Router for routing is also beneficial.
Express.js: Often used with Node.js for building web applications and APIs, understanding Express.js can be beneficial. This includes routing, middleware, error handling, and serving static files.
Databases: Familiarity with a database system (SQL like PostgreSQL/MySQL or NoSQL like MongoDB) is necessary. DevOps: Basic understanding of DevOps concepts like continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), Docker, and Kubernetes can be beneficial.
An understanding of the technology environments that freight forwarders, transporters and traders operate in, including government and port operating systems..
An excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
Ability to understand customers’ business, needs, challenges and expectations within the EU UK trading community
Completes projects on time to a high quality demonstrating strong team management and planning skills
