We're seeking dedicated Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) who are enthusiastic about operating theatre environments.

Our department comprises 12 operating theatres, offering a distinct working style conducive to a positive work environment, effective team collaboration, and optimal patient care.

This role is well-suited for both new and experienced practitioners. You'll join an expert team, expanding your skill set and establishing a career in theatres.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will need to be a registered Nurse or ODP.As an anaesthetic practitioner, you'll collaborate with anaesthetists and the surgical team to uphold high standards in patient care within the operating theatre environment. Main duties include:Prepare a wide range of specialist equipment, including anaesthetic machines, intravenous equipment and devices that safely assist in delivering anaesthesia for the patients.Ensure the UHB policies and procedures are followed, and staff act in relation to their professional registration requirement.Ensure that their mandatory training is completed annually or as required.Enhance patient care by ensuring effective assessment of patient's needs, this includes making decisions on issues surrounding surgical emergencies/problems requiring immediate action.Liaising with the appropriate clinical specialists/ team leaders about individual patient care and requirements.Daily input and retrieval of patient information appropriate to the Unit from the Trust information technology systems including electronic Theatre Management System.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
