As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be the linchpin in maintaining, designing, and assessing our key mechanical assets, ranging from hydraulic systems to mooring structures. You’ll act as an internal consultant and lead on reliability assessments while ensuring compliance with legislative standards.

Overseeing mechanical inspections and audits, you are the authority on recommending efficient maintenance and repair programs, all while fostering innovative approaches for improved sustainability and reliability. Additionally, offering support to other team members and preparing technical guidance will be pivotal parts of your role to ensure the safety and efficiency of the Port’s operations.

Hours of Work:

Full Time, hours per week

Senior Mechanical Engineer Requirements:
  1. BEng/Meng (or equivalent) in appropriate Mechanical or similar discipline
  2. Chartered or incorporated membership with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) or working towards this is desirable
  3. Extensive post-graduation experience of undertaking mechanical designs and calculations
  4. Experience undertaking feasibility studies, design, assessments and specifications for mechanical engineering works
  5. Effective communication to technical and non-technical audiences
  6. Understanding of CDM regulations
  7. Hold a valid UK driving licence
