That means combining cutting-edge digital and cloud solutions with our platforms. We've got an opportunity for a Senior Technology Lead to join our Data team. This role is key to shaping and driving our technology strategy, with a strong focus on leadership and impact across the wider Technology function. As a Senior Technology Lead, you'll focus on the bigger picture – making sure multiple teams are aligned and working smoothly towards shared goals. You'll help to improve our workflows across teams, spotting opportunities to improve processes or introduce new technology that makes a real difference for our people and our customers. It's all about making delivery more efficient, driving technical progress, and helping teams succeed together. In this role, you would be working technologies including Data Pipelines, Data Platforms, AWS, Python and PySpark. Key Responsibilities include: Lead delivery across multiple teams, ensuring smooth planning, release coordination, and continuous integration. Drive governance and performance, tracking key metrics and promoting continuous improvement. Manage costs and efficiency, monitoring spends (e.g. cloud usage) and identifying optimisation opportunities. Oversee demand and intake, prioritising work transparently and balancing team capacity. Provide clear insights, aggregating metrics to support decision-making and executive reporting. Support technical delivery, from planning and estimation to hands-on contributions based on your expertise. Own service quality, ensuring performance, resilience, and tech debt reduction are built into delivery. Lead issue resolution, managing defects and maintaining system stability. Enable high-performing teams, embedding agile ways of working and fostering a culture of trust and collaboration. Champion continuous improvement, working with engineering and test leads to raise standards and consistency. Grow team capability, supporting development, alignment on goals and open communication. Lead and support people, providing coaching, feedback, and performance management to help individuals thrive. We'd love to hear from you if you have: Proven experience leading technology projects or teams across multiple domains. A knowledge of Data Pipelines, Data Platforms, AWS, Python and PySpark. Strong leadership experience - whether leading engineering teams, acting as a scrum master, or managing people directly. A strong technical background in one or more technical specialisms, such as data engineering, architecture, DevOps, technical business analysis. Hands-on technical expertise, with the ability to contribute to design, development or testing. Deep technical understanding, able to lead meaningful technical discussions and speak the language of engineers. Proven track record delivering complex projects using modern tech stacks and cloud data platforms. Strong stakeholder and upper management engagement skills, with accountability for day-to-day delivery. Ability to manage complexity across teams and systems. Comfortable working in both Agile and Waterfall environments. What's in it for you? We're serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. If you decide to contribute more, we'll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that's 7% from you and 13% from us). A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance. 36 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time).
