Job Title and Role: Class One Driver Days

  • Salary:£16.00 46.25-hour contract / £17.00ph thereafter / 45 minutes unpaid break, 50 hours and after accumulative hours across the week
  • Location:Haddenham, Buckinghamshire
  • Working Hours:Between 04:00 & 09:00 Starts Monday to Friday (Route Dependent)

Responsibilities:

As a Class One haulage driver, you'll play a pivotal role in the efficient and safe delivery of freight across the UK. Flexibilty is essential with this role as your days will vary. Sometimes you could be delivering larger shipments on milk-runs or taking full loads from point A to B. It will vary from day to day. Our General Haulage drivers are also expected to come prepared to "Night-out" Monday to Thursday, for our longer routes

Your key duties include being able to work to a daily delivery and collection route plan set out by the transport office. Being able to use PDA devices and phone Apps for POD capture. To always be diligent with your daily maintenance checks and ensure you work to strict DVLA guidelines for driver hours. You must always care about health and safety, looking after both yourself, other members of staff or the general public. Taking pride in the cleanliness of your vehicle is essential and making sure that all shipments are loaded safe and secure before each trip and throughout the day.

You must remain professional when visiting clients or delivery points. You will be representing the company at all times so a calm and friendly persona is essential. The office transport team relies on you as their eyes and ears on the road so the right candidate must be willing and want to be part of the wider Mobile team.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a clean C + E Licence with at least 2 years experience and over the age of 25. A good understanding of standard compliance requirements, and experience in general haulage is desired. A strong focus and care for maintaining delivery performance efficiently and cost-effective driving is also a positive.

  • Have a flexible and adaptable approach to day to day work
  • Be able to use Phones, PDAs and Apps
  • Perform strict maintenance checks daily
