Full Time - Permanent. The Academic Course Leader will work directly with the Academic Manager and the wider College staff to ensure students receive a high-quality academic experience and support.
Address and resolve issues relating to the quality of the course delivery, student satisfaction, student progress, and retention as they arise
Provide academic leadership to implement College policy, practice, and processes
Liaise and work with the course team and the wider College staff to ensure students receive a high-quality academic experience and support
Course Management and Administration;
Discuss and agree on resource requirements for the course, including rooms, equipment, and technology needs, ensuring that academic texts and resources are available to deliver the course within agreed resourcing parameters
Ensure that lecturers and students have attended induction so that they are aware of college facilities, including health and safety and student support facilities, i.e., Support College administration in maintaining student records
Academic Leadership;
Advise as appropriate or escalate to the Academic Manager or other College staff
Support and implement change delivery by supporting the implementation of college strategic projects, i.e., Support the Academic Manager in complying with college and statutory requirements as directed by the awarding bodies/statutory requirements
Support students in college initiatives in progression to work, further education, or alumni activities
Quality assurance and enhancement;
Work with team members to ensure that all assessments, including marking and moderation, are aligned with college and partner quality standards
Facilitate and engage in research and scholarly activity to support learning and teaching and course and curriculum development
Undertake training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) associated with the role and responsibilities and in line with college requirements
Adhere to and comply with the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act and in accordance with the College's policy on Health and Safety
Undertake all duties and responsibilities in compliance with rules and regulations encompassing equal opportunities
Adhere, comply and work in accordance with all College policies, procedures and codes of conduct.
Academic Course Leader, Business Course Leader, College Course Leader, Academic Business Course Leader, may also be considered for this role.
