As an experienced Electrical Design Engineer, you will lead Electrical Design and Project based activities in support of New Model Programmes and Current Engineering activities within our Client’s design engineering centre.

Electrical Design Engineer Role:

QCD focused approach to product development.

Responsible for generation and delivery of concept and manufacturing design definitions, based on technical specifications, requirements, relevant standards, and other constraints.

Responsible for the conceptual development of new product solutions in the scoping phase of programmes.

Participate in developing and maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures.

Supporting the identification of business opportunities.

Problem solving on existing products and product improvement.

Responsible for evaluating technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions.

Planning, controlling and delivering assigned projects, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan, budget and costs.

Preparing and delivering progress reports against project plans.

Keeping up to date with relevant technology developments in appropriate technical areas, developing skills and capabilities, and giving support and expertise to others as required.

Actively participate in business unit improvement activities.

Where required, to manage engineers in both work activities and personal development.

Where required, teach and mentor apprentices and/or graduates in your field of expertise.

Support a continuous improvement culture across the Engineering team, contributing to a high performing environment.

Electrical Design Engineer Requirements:

Essential:
• Electrical Degree/HND or suitable Electrical engineering design experience.
• Have a minimum of 2 year’s experience working in a senior electrical design role.
• ECAD user.
• Ability to create detailed Schematic and harness drawings.
• Excellent fault finding skills.
• Has demonstrated a good understanding of engineering organisations, support systems and processes.
• Team player.
• Excellent verbal and written communicator.
• Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
• Excellent problem solver - able to work independently and also lead teams to problem solve.
• Have a hands-on approach to Engineering Design and development.
• Results orientated.
• Ability to operate in continuous improvement environment.
• Planning and priority setting ability.
• QCD Focused.
• Excellent personal skills and persuasive able to create constructive discussions and push for change even when difficult.
• Professionalism.
• Integrity and trustworthiness.

Desirable:
• CEng / Masters’ Degree.
• Membership of professional organisation.
• Experience of mobile off-highway/industrial products.
• Experience of working in the Automotive Industry.
• Experience of New Model Launch.
• ZUKEN E3 user preferred.
• Understanding of J1939 CAN and vector Canalyzer.
• Controller and HMI software programming with Parker Iqan, C++, CoDeSys or similar.
• Experience in gaining EMC and ISO13849 compliance.
