Key Responsibilities:
Print Design Development:
Create original print designs for textiles, garments, and accessories, ensuring alignment with the seasonal style plan and brand aesthetic.
Develop both repeat patterns and placement prints that are innovative, trend-driven, and commercially viable.
Work closely with the design team to integrate prints into overall collection themes.
Trend Research and Analysis:
Conduct thorough research on current and emerging fashion trends, colours, and materials to inform and inspire print designs.
Attend industry trade shows, exhibitions, and fashion events to stay abreast of market trends and new design techniques.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with designers, product developers, and merchandisers to ensure cohesive and market-appropriate print designs.
Communicate effectively with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure accurate production of print designs.
Technical Design and Execution:
Prepare detailed artwork and technical specifications for print production, including colour separations, repeats, and placements.
Utilise design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other relevant tools to create and refine print designs.
Ensure all designs meet quality standards and production requirements.
Project Management:
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of print designs according to the production schedule.
Maintain organized records of all print designs, samples, and production details.
Quality Control and Review:
Review and approve print samples, making necessary adjustments to achieve the desired quality and aesthetic.
Work with the quality control team to ensure all prints meet the company's standards and customer expectations.
Sustainability and Innovation:
Explore and implement sustainable design practices and materials in print development.
Stay informed about new technologies and methods in print design and production.
Law Compliance:
Ensure all print designs comply with relevant intellectual property laws and regulations.
Monitor and adhere to industry standards and legal requirements, including copyright and trademark laws.
Collaborate with the legal team to manage and address any potential infringement issues.
Maintain awareness of and comply with regulatory requirements related to environmental and safety standards in print production.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in print design within the fashion industry.
Proven track record of creating successful print designs for apparel and accessories.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and other relevant design software, Coreldraw is preferred
Strong understanding of textile printing techniques and processes.
Excellent hand-drawing and illustration skills are a plus.
Strong sense of colour, pattern, and detail.
Ability to interpret fashion trends and translate them into commercial print designs.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional Requirements:
Portfolio showcasing a range of print designs and demonstrating a strong understanding of fashion trends and commercial viability.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed for research and development purposes.
