Staff Engineer / Technical Lead (Remote, Open to Global Applicants) Location: Remote (preference for candidates able to work within UK time zone)
Our SaaS platform automates and optimizes freight booking and management for mid-sized companies that import and export goods. Seamlessly integrating with ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Ekei connects businesses to a global marketplace of freight forwarders. Our vision is ambitious: to build the "Supply Cloud," the Internet of Logistics, that transforms how companies move goods around the world, making it smarter, greener, and more efficient.

Since we’re an early-stage startup backed by a top accelerator, we’re looking for someone who understands the unique rhythm of startup life—the fast pace, the constant challenges, and the occasional chaos that comes with building something from the ground up. You’ll be part of a high-performance team that’s all-in on our vision, a group that works hard and goes the extra mile to make a real impact. Product Development: Lead the development of new features and enhancements, from concept to deployment.
Team Building: Play a pivotal role in hiring, mentoring, and leading a high-performing engineering team as the company grows.
Oversee the integration of our platform with various ERP systems, beginning with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
Quality Assurance: Establish coding standards, best practices, and conduct code reviews to maintain high code quality.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or architect role.
Proficient in server-side languages such as Node.js, Python, or Java. Experience with building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Frontend Skills: Strong knowledge of modern frontend frameworks like React.js or Angular. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Familiarity with services like AWS EC2, Lambda, S3, and RDS.
Database Management: Expertise in both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Ability to design and optimize database schemas.
Experience integrating software applications with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, is a significant plus. (DevOps Knowledge: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
Strong understanding of application security, authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT), and data protection.
Proven track record of leading engineering teams and projects to successful outcomes.
