Seeking a GCSE Art specialist for an OFTSED rated GOOD school within the Wolverhampton area..

We are supporting a partnering School in Wolverhampton in recruiting for an Art and DT specialist to start as soon as possible

Since new management in 2019, the standards and expectations have transformed the ethos and culture of the academy. The school, recently rated ‘GOOD’ in OFSTED accommodates students from 11 – 18.

Job Title: Art Teacher GCSE, with some KS3 DT.

Contract: Full-time

To Start: Immediate start to Easter Initially (potential to roll on thereafter)

Pay: MPS/UPS

Role also suited to ECTs.

  • Develop and deliver engaging and inclusive art and design & technology (DT) lessons for Key Stage 3 (KS3) and GCSE students, incorporating a range of teaching strategies and resources.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with national standards and promotes creativity, critical thinking, and practical skills development.
  • Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring
  • Assess student progress and attainment
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students, including those with special educational needs (SEN) and English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners.
  • Provide additional support and intervention strategies for students who require assistance in mastering art and DT concepts and techniques.
  • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, respect, and creativity
  • Implement consistent and fair disciplinary procedures in accordance with school policies, addressing any behavioural issues promptly and effectively.

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

- Proven experience teaching Art at the GCSE level, preferably within a UK secondary school setting.

- Strong subject knowledge across Art and Design with the ability to inspire and engage students in their learning.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

- Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, with a proactive approach to professional development and continuous improvement.
