Job Description

Position: Building Mechanical OR Electrical Engineer

Overall Objectives:

  1. Provide facility engineering services for Company Canada Engineering.
  2. Develop specifications and bid packages for facility projects.
  3. Manage construction and equipment installation projects.
  4. Develop equipment standards and operating procedures.
  5. Manage third party maintenance services of facility equipment and buildings.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Project Manager for facility projects to meet timing, specifications, and cost objectives.
  • Review design documents, monitor construction work, and provide technical support.
  • Assist in value engineering ideas, coordinate responses, and ensure adherence to project schedules.
  • Coordinate installation, conduct construction meetings, and oversee equipment start-up.
  • Evaluate completion of work, assist in punch-list creation, and review close-out documentation.

Primary area of responsibility: Company Canada facilities located in Windsor.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years construction management experience.
  • Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Google Sheets.
  • Experience in a unionized environment with strong project management and communication skills.

Additional Must-Haves:

  • 5-10 years engineering experience with facility electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs and AutoCAD.
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an industrial setting in Ontario.

Location: Onsite – 100% at Automotive Research and Development Centre

Travel: Frequent travel within City of Windsor, infrequent travel to US and other parts of Ontario.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract Length: 12 months

Pay: $39.00-$43.00 per hour

Expected Hours: 8 – 10 per week

Benefits: Extended health care, Life insurance

Language Requirement: French not required

Schedule: 8 hour shift

Supplemental Pay Types: Overtime pay

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Work Location: In person
