WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Jam Press is looking for someone with at least 2 years’ experience working on a picture or production desk at a local/national newsroom.

The role involves assisting the production editor and packaging newsworthy content in a timely manner.

We cover stories from across the globe with a focus on the UK and US and use a variety of methods to find our articles. However, social media plays a big part in what we do, so you need be well-versed in using the big five (TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube).

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, great at multi-tasking and managing their workload, and able to prioritise the content that comes in throughout the day with the guidance of Editors. Basic media law knowledge is desired, but an excellent phone manner is a must, as is good communication skills.

You will have excellent attention to detail, an eye for what visuals work for a story and an understanding of what the press wants and how to appeal to different outlets – including national and digital publications, broadcast, magazines and print.

We are a small but effective team, and we encourage everyone to bring their own ideas to the table.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Processing and sending stories written by our journalists

· Generating newsworthy content

· Distributing and licensing of content

· Widening the reach of our agency through the introduction of new clients and publications

· Social media management

· Video production management

· Website management

· Copy/Story Tasting

· Monitoring and ensuring content corrections are carried out quickly and efficiently
